Job offer description

About the position

If you are looking for new challenges within test engineering, now is your chance to join a highly specialised team on a growth journey to expand even more. The position is based at our head office in Aarhus. It is part of Systematic’s business unit Defence, where you will be part of a team whose primary task is to ensure an outstanding user experience of our software. This happens through the development and continual improvement of our state-of-the-art Geographic Information System (GIS), which delivers close to real-time data to our customers within the Defence domain. It will be your responsibility to ensure that all test activities relating to our GIS and its functionality are conducted, planned and executed on time, with a focus on quality and user experience. The GIS is used across our Defence programs, and you will therefore be collaborating extensively with the developers and testers of the other programs in Defence, as there are multiple integrations between the systems.

As a Test Engineer in Defence, you also will become part of a strong and unique network comprising 25 Testers and Test Managers, organised under one Test Project Manager in Defence, offering you an outstanding opportunity to share knowledge and spar with colleagues from across the business unit. In addition, you will have a chance to join our knowledge network centred around testing as a discipline. Within the network, you will also be able to use the Testers and Test Managers from our other business areas as a sounding board.

Responsibilities and tasks

You will play a key role in ensuring a high level of quality for mission-critical software products by ensuring that the product is thoroughly tested and meets customer requirements. You will work in close collaboration with your development team to ensure that the right level of quality assurance is built into our products. You will be responsible for providing early test designs that set the framework for feature tests. Furthermore, you will follow the development process closely and continuously discuss with the Software Developers on your team to ensure complete alignment with customer requirements. Together with your team, you will deliver high-quality features and conduct ongoing risk assessments of the overall product quality throughout the implementation phase.

You raise the bar for quality assurance, and your daily tasks will involve:

  • Ensuring a high level of test quality throughout the complete feature process.
  • Ensuring that our processes are adhered to
  • Early test involvement in our development process in cooperation with our system engineers.
  • Test considerations
  • Creating test designs and test cases and being part of risk assessments concerning test planning
  • Participating in all test activities such as system tests, field tests, bug hunts, suite integration tests etc.
  • Being an active part of the automation process
  • Supporting the development and maintenance of our test environments.

Are you the person we’re looking for to join Systematic? Then you might:

  • Hold a relevant Bachelor’s degree or have a relevant career within quality assurance. If you have experience from the military and working with C4 products, this also qualifies.
  • Have experience from working with QGIS, ArcGIS or WMS/WMTS.
  • Be outgoing and interested in building solid relationships with your colleagues through close collaboration.
  • Be very quality-oriented and prepared to speak up if you feel quality is being compromised or there is scope for improvement.
  • Have a flexible mindset as you can expect many different areas of responsibility in a fast-paced environment.
  • Have a general knowledge and understanding of and interest in geographical systems.

We expect you to have:

  • A technical background within software development or a technical flair for testing.
  • 3+ years of experience working with software testing.
  • An interest in or experience from working within the military domain, and preferably experience at working with GIS data and GIS data processing.
  • A high degree of fluency in English, and that you thrive in an international working environment.
  • We work with security classified projects and, as a Systematic employee, you require a security clearance. For more information about security clearance, please visit: https://systematic.com/en-gb/careers/security-clearance/
