The technology and advanced development team (TAD) prototypes and tests innovative ideas and proves concepts prior to productization. As part of AD 

In the TAD team, you will design and tune rack scale system and hardware configurations for hybrid public/private cloud storage and analytics systems. You will combine Linux software components with WDC and 3rd-party hardware. 

Skillset 

● You have 5+ years experience in Linux system and storage engineering You have proven Storage System architecture experience 

o Storage: HDD, SSD, pci-e Flash, NvRAM 

o Storage networking: SAS, SATA, pci-e, rdma, 

o OS: Linux (Ubuntu, RedHat, Debian), kernel/driver optimization, 

o FileSystems: ext4, xfs, … 

o Block devices 

o Tiering / caching technologies 

o Scale out filesystems: gluster, .. 

● You have proven Analytics systems engineering experience 

o Hadoop map-reduce, spark
