Your tasks:

  • Comprehensive technical support for IBM MQ
  • Safeguarding and further development of system operations at supported domestic and foreign production plants
  • Support for the following ITIL processes: system, release, incident, problem, change and configuration management
  • Planning and execution of installations and release updates
  • Performance management and capacity planning
  • Assuring availability
  • Configuration, operating process and monitoring optimisation and standardisation
  • Involvement in the design and improvement of deployed tools
  • Monitoring and safeguarding of ongoing operations (on standby as required)
  • Monitoring of compliance with standards and conventions
  • End-to-end analysis and remedying of problems within the scope of Level 3 support
  • Know-how transfer to back desk staff (2nd level)
  • Consulting and support for application developers (technology, architecture, operating issues)
  • Head of sub-projects and work packages, respectively collaboration on projects
  • Further development of the core system technology and cross-plant standardisation
  • Groundwork and technology consulting for cross-sector expert panels (e.g. VCTs)
  • Establishment of MQ connectivity for new plants

 

Your profile:

  • Bachelor degree from a university or university of applied sciences in information technology, related fields or equivalent, several years' work experience in technical IT operating environments
  • Solid knowledge of IBM MQ and experience in its large-scale deployment
  • General knowledge in the field of designing IT operational processes and services, ITIL
  • Experience in the fields of UNIX (AIX, HP-UX) / Linux (SLES) / Windows, network protocols (TCP), and knowledge of conventional middleware products that use MQ (IBM WAS, SAP PI, Oracle Message Gateway) respectively of the APIs used by MQ, in particular JMS
  • Knowledge of shell scripting would be advantageous
  • Self-reliant and systematic work approach, commitment, team capability, flexibility, mobility and customer orientation
  • Experience of project work
  • Good knowledge of written and spoken English
  • Minimum B2 level German language skills
