The Supplier Quality department at our global head office in Brande, Denmark, is seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer who will be responsible for conducting global supplier qualifications. You will be part of a global commodity team developing future supplier strategies and our supplier base for Transport and Lifting Equipment. The responsibilities of the team include supplier qualification, follow-up and source inspection activities for welded steel structures as well as global governance of related processes.

What are my responsibilities?

As a Supplier Quality Engineer you will be responsible for developing supplier quality strategies, conducting supplier quality management system audits, manufacturing process audits and first article inspections. Furthermore, your responsibilities will cover: Assuring procured components meet specified engineering and global standard requirements Monitoring supplier performance, following-up on supplier related non-conformance findings and performing root cause analysis activities Reporting supplier performance, supplier qualification status and audit findings Facilitating and conducting assessments for transport and lifting equipment suppliers and contractors. Evaluating QMS questionnaires from suppliers and contractors. Onsite assessment of suppliers and contractors. Verification of manufacturing processes especially welding procedures and inspection reports. Specialist support to commodity teams. Ensuring relevant QMS input to existing and new procurement procedures and processes. Reviewing and approving corrective and preventive actions on supplier and contractor assessments. Communicating lessons learned from assessments internally in the commodity teams within Siemens Wind Power. Reporting performance and shortcomings on supplier and contractor assessments to procurement management. Updating of the Approved Supplier Database with relevant qualification data on individual suppliers and contractors.

What do I need to qualify for this job?

You have a relevant academic background and 3+ years of experience from a similar position, ideally from the wind turbine or construction industry. You have a solid technical background combined with lead audit and supplier quality experience, and preferably you have a Six Sigma green belt. Ideally, you possess production process knowledge of welded and surface-treated steel products related to the wind industry. You have the ability to work independently, and you are passionate about meeting costumer expectations. In addition, you have a thorough knowledge of ISO 9001 QM systems You have a thorough knowledge of Welding procesess and Design Standards You have a valid driving license for all EU countries. As a person you are proactive with strong analytical skills, and you have an open-minded approach to people and new ways of thinking. You thrive in a multicultural and international environment and are capable of interacting professionally across all organizational levels. Furthermore, you are a skilled communicator with excellent English skills both orally and in writing, and you are an experienced user of Microsoft Office. In case you have acquired your skills in alternative ways your application is just as well appreciated.
