Traditional Meat Company (TMC) is a beef processing company with decades of experience in the processing and export of quality beef to niche high-end markets across Europe. Our key differentiator in our industry is our ability to maintain a close relationship with our clients and build on this to provide bespoke services that deliver to their needs and specifications.  We are continuing to expand our operations and are currently recruiting for a supervisor to join our ever-expanding team. 

  • You will be responsible for the smooth and efficient running of the day-to-day shift.
  • Manage the daily running of the factory ensuring production targets are achieved to the specified quality standards.
  • Roster staff on shifts, to ensure adequate cover for holidays and illness
  • Lead, direct and motivate shift to ensure key KPI’s and targets are met
  • Ensure products are packed to strict quality and health and safety standards
  • Assist production planner and despatch manager to ensure products are packed on time to meet tight delivery schedules
  • Ensure that routine maintenance of packing machines is conducted to avoid down-time
  • Monitor yields to reduce waste and increase efficiencies
  • Ensure product traceability documentation is completed daily
Job requirements

Skills & Experience Required:

  • Previous experience in a similar role within the food industry/FMCG
  • Experience in a chilled environment, is an advantage
  • Previous experience managing teams
  • Ability to work well under pressure
  • Good communicator
  • Manual Handling experience, as this is a hands-on role
Nice to have

The Candidate:

  • Must have experience in meat processing company or abattoir.
  • Experience in the meat industry with beef back-ground a distinct advantage.
  • Must have had overall responsibility for 20 staff as a minimum.
  • Ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
  • Good knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental practices.
  • You must be able to control work schedules according to work plans
  • Experience with meat traceability systems.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication and influencing skills.
  • Good organisational skills/ability to work on own initiative.
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be computer literate
