Within ING Commercial Banking our teams support ING front office traders who deal, amongst others, in fixed income products. In our business it comes down to milliseconds and lean IT is of utmost importance. It is for this team that we are looking to hire a junior IT professional, who wants to be trained to become an IT specialist in this field and provide superior service to the ING traders.

 

Your work environment:

As an IT specialist in the Fixed Income Products team, you will be responsible for the availability, stability and performance of the complex trading and pricing application Marketview. You will also take part in changing existing functionality and building and/or testing new functionalities for the platform.

 

Job description:

The position of IT specialist involves technical and functional trouble shooting and incident solving with broad exposure to the front office fixed income trading business area, working in close cooperation with end-users (traders) regarding application requests. You’ll provide first and second line support activities on global, cross-asset trading applications.  

Also you’ll have an active participation in changes for extending the platform's capabilities and functional purpose by managing the implementation of software releases in a controlled way. You will propose and where appropriate, build and test innovation ideas and recommend enhancements.  

You will work in a team which uses the agile/scrum way of working, highly focused on continuous delivery aspects such as automated testing, automated deployments and continuous integration. So, you do not only work in the support area, but also write and test code and scripts.

 

Who we are looking for?

A junior IT professional who wants to be trained to become a superior IT specialist and can support and develop the Marketview application.

You are the person we are looking for because you have the following qualities:

  • You belong to the top of your class and have a deep and intensive knowledge of IT
  • You can work independently and are able to keep working calmly and efficiently under high pressure
  • You have excellent analysis and problem solving skills; you are curious, you challenge the existing situation and take initiatives to find out how things work even if you have to do this on your own
  • You are smart, able to understand complex structures and systems and a fast learner; when shown or told something once, you know what to do the next time
  • You communicate clearly and consistently to all important stakeholders like traders and other front office users, IT colleagues, project managers and architects.

And you have the following knowledge and/or experience:

  • Bachelor or Master degree, preferably in Business Information Technology or computer sciences
  • Good numerate/mathematical ability
  • Strong wish to be trained in functional and technical application support and development in a front office financial markets environment
  • Strong wish to build up knowledge of financial markets products in general and bonds and fixed income products specific and willing to invest in this
  • Technical IT knowledge; e.g. Linux/UNIX, Windows, databases (Oracle, Sybase, SQL) (junior level/must acquire), connections/interfaces, network trouble shooting, IT infrastructures (all preference)
  • Being able to write code/script f.e. Bash, Python and Pearl (junior level)
  • Knowledge of Scrum/Agile way of working and Continuous Delivery tooling (like Jenkins, GIT, Nolio) or willing to acquire (preference);
