Typar® is a spunbond nonwoven fabric whose applications are present in different markets such as civil engineering, landscape, construction, filtration and others.

DuPont Luxembourg is seeking a Spinning Process Engineer (m/f) for its Typar® Manufacturing plant.

The Process Engineer is responsible for developing and implementing engineering solutions to continuously improve process capability in the areas of safety, productivity and reliability.

Your responsibilities:

  • Provide daily technical support to Operations including process troubleshooting and root cause analysis
  • Lead process optimization of the existing assets to meet the quality and productivity goals
  • Drive an innovation and continuous improvement focus in engineering and manufacturing activities
  • Support Process Safety Management (PSM) and Safety Health and Environmental programs

Qualifications required:

  • Master in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science or Physics
  • Broad and general interest in technology
  • 5 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Knowledge of polymer spinning/fiber spinning technology
  • Conceptual & analytical thinking, creativity, global approach to a problem and practical capabilities are equally important for this specific position.
  • Self-starter and initiative / Interdisciplinary Team-work / Capability to acquire new competencies
  • Fluent in German and English

DuPont started production in Luxembourg in 1962 with the manufacturing of Mylar polyester films. Today, the DuPont location in Contern produces an array of highly innovative materials for industries as diverse as construction, printing, automotive and landscaping. The site has roughly 1000 employees, and expansion of its activities are foreseen with the new production line for the flagship product Tyvek®, which is used for protective garments, home wrap insulation and medical packaging to mention just a few applications. The new manufacturing line will become operational in 2020, and will require 120 new jobs in various positions.
