Software Testing Engineer

CVO Recruitment's client is a global telecommunication application software company.

Job purpose

The Commerce team creates features to disable users to use company in dishonest way. Faults in those systems could block large amount of honest users from using the services or allow fraud to take place. Having professional quality engineers would mitigate this risk. Range of activities for the job includes test planning, creation, execution and maintenance of manual and automated tests, troubleshooting and logging discovered issues.

Key responsibilities

• Building infrastructure, processes and tools for testing.
• Test planning and justification.
• Using testing methodologies to discover and isolate product flaws quickly and effectively.
• Creation and execution of test cases.
• Automation and execution of functional and non-functional tests.
• Manage and control issue reports, providing precise information and support.
• Communication of testing progress, difficulties and results.
• Documenting tests, tools and environments in use.
• Maintaining and developing skills needed for testing.
• Consulting colleagues and project team members.

Required knowledge and experience

• 1+ years of experience with databases and/or real-time, client-server based systems.
• Experience with any scripting language (preferably Python).
• Experience with SQL.
• Experience with PHP.
• Experience working with version control systems (SVN, GIT).
• Ability to use Linux/Unix on command line level.
• Understanding of testing concept and methodologies.
• Excellent troubleshooting skills.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Sciences or equivalent.
• Excellent spoken and written English.
