Social Care Workers:

  • Ashford, Co Wicklow (39 hours per week; Permanent Contract ) x2
  • Ashford, Co Wicklow (Min 12 hours per week; Permanent Contract)

We are seeking resilient, energetic and experienced Social Care Workers with excellent problem-solving skills to join a team that works in partnership with people who use our services, to enable them to live as independently as possible and to be part of their local community.

 

The purpose of the role is to support the day to day running of the services and inductions, and the Social Care Worker will be accountable for the facilitation and delivery of person centred support.

 

The successful candidate will be afforded all necessary training and development in line with the role.

 

The Company:

Autism Initiatives Ireland was set up in 2005. Our Services are funded and work in partnership with the HSE. We provide a broad range of services which include Community Support (Outreach), Day Horizons, Respite and Residential.

 

Our Services are underpinned by a clear understanding of good autism practice. They are guided by a person centred approach which focuses on understanding the needs an individual may have in relation to their Autism. Our Residential and Respite services are registered with HIQA. Our expectation is that people with Autism can learn and develop and we support this process every single day. We will create unique services for people to enable them to have ownership of their own lives and future.

 

Essential Qualifications:

  • QQI Level 7 award in Social Care/Studies, or
  • A relevant qualification received outside the State recognised by NARIC as equivalent to the Irish Level 7 award, or
  • A relevant third level qualification at degree level i.e. Social Work, Psychology, and/or allied health or a Post-graduate qualification in Autism

 

Essential Criteria:

  • At least six month’s recent experience in the social care/disability sector supporting people with complex needs
  • Proven knowledge of current legislation and regulations relating to the Social Care Sector
  • Full, drivers licence
  • Demonstrated ability to work on own initiative and ability to work alone
  • Proven experience in the implementation and development of support/care plans and PCP’s
  • Fluent English and excellent communication skills

 

 

Desirable Criteria:

  • Experience working with people with Autism, Intellectual Disabilities and/or Mental Health
