SKOV A/S - Mechanical Engineer and Project Manager in R&D Mechanics

Are you looking for the rare opportunity to manage projects in an R&D department but still be able to do the actual mechanical development?

With direct report to the R&D Manager, Mechanics this position is both project management and mechanical engineering. Your working day will be varied as you will be in contact with different stakeholders across the entire SKOV group. After a concept has been approved you will manage the entire development project in some of our smaller projects, leaving time to do mechanical development with your engineering colleagues..

SKOV uses Stage-Gate as their development methodology, and the new Engineer and Project Manager is expected to use this method when managing smaller projects.

Your main tasks include:

• Mechanical development in new projects as well as product updates.
• Idea, concept development and prototyping.
• Specifying, designing, and documenting mechanical components.
• Create 2D drawings and 3D models for components and assemblies.
• Work with internal and external manufacturing supplier to ensure cost-effectiveness and design for manufacturing (DFM).
• As part of the team continuously to improve and mature our way of working.
• Managing smaller projects.

You have experience within mechanics development projects and development methodologies such as Stage-Gate, etc. You either have a proven track record within project management but would like to work more with the mechanical development or you are a mechanical developer who would like to try out project management.

You probably possess a Bachelor or a Master’s degree within Mechanical Engineering, a Bachelor of Technology Management and Marine Engineering or likewise and you speak and write English effortlessly.

You are a person who likes to work with different people and has a can-do-attitude. A working day will be exciting and varied, therefore it is a must, that you thrive being in contact with many colleagues both inside and outside the R&D Mechanical department.
