Are you an ambitious Mechanical Developer, who thrives working with both daily tasks and complex projects? Do you want to contribute to an efficient and sustainable food production? Then we’ve got the opportunity for you!

You will be part of our mechanical team in R&D with focus on all mechanical related areas, which includes cooperation with Product Management, internal specialists, procurement, and customer support.

You will work in teams with other talented developers and experts working with maintenance and further development of our existing portfolio used for chickens, pigs, dairy and insects, such as ventilation controllers, actuators, and fans for exhaust systems.

We work with product development through the complete life cycle:

    • New concepts – higher performance - lower energy consumption – lower product cost.
    • Analysis and specification of design/development.
    • Internal development and/or close cooperation with partners, sub-suppliers, external specialists, and knowledge institutions.
    • Production maturing incl. preparation of production related documentation and solving of design-related production challenges.
    • Lab test, field test and follow up with the customers.
    • Regulatory requirements/directives/approvals - general and local.

You will also be performing mechanical support for the other teams/groups in the development department and within the company.

Your responsibilities will be:

  • Mechanical development in new projects as well as product updates.
  • Idea, concept development and prototyping.
  • Specifying, designing, and documenting mechanical components.
  • Create 2D drawings and 3D models for components and assemblies.
  • Work with internal and external manufacturing supplier to ensure cost-effectiveness and design for manufacturing (DFM).
  • As part of the team continuously to improve and mature our way of working.

As a person you:

  • Have an education as Mechanical Engineer or similar with at least 5 years of experience, preferable also knowledge of designing plastic parts.
  • Will bring optimism and eagerness to learn from and inspire your colleagues.
  • Wish to build knowledge within strong designs, and to take the lead and set the direction in certain technical aspects.
  • Are structured and have an analytical approach
  • Have an aptitude for multidisciplinary cooperation
  • Are driven by the quality of your work and take pride in understanding and solving complex challenges.
  • Dare to challenge how we work and put forward ideas for improving processes and our technical setup.
  • Are innovative and see possibilities that accommodate both the customer’s and SKOV’s business.
