At Zealand University Hospital in Roskilde, there is a regional function in all areas of pulmonary medicine and allergology, and the outpatient clinic covers the entire pulmonary medicine/allergological spectrum as well as invasive examination of lung malignancy. At Næstved Hospital, specific pulmonary diseases and malignancies are also treated. A broad spectrum of pulmonary medicine is provided at the hospitals in Slagelse and Nykøbing Falster, both on wards and in outpatient clinics.
You will be linked with one of the departments as your permanent place of work. There is good collaboration between the departments in the region, and if you are interested in such, your job may be split between several of the hospitals.

What we need from you
The overall requirement for you is that you are a trained pulmonologist. Professionally, you should be motivated by the great responsibility and the diversity of tasks that you experience at work. You may wish to deal with all aspects of pulmonary medicine, with participation in ward rounds, pulmonary outpatient clinics, etc. It may also be that you have a particular interest in and competencies within more specialised pulmonary medicine such as invasive examination of lung malignancy, interstitial lung disease, severe asthma or allergies. The most important thing is that you have good professional competencies within your field of interest, and that you also have good collaboration skills and contribute to the department with a positive attitude and a high degree of commitment.
It is a requirement that you are an EU citizen and educated in an EU country so that you can be automatically registered as a doctor and specialist in Denmark.
You will spend a lot of time learning the Danish language so that you can maintain appropriate contact with your patients and their relatives. You must therefore be willing to initially spend much of your time learning the Danish language. In return, we will offer you one-on-one teaching with our skilled language teachers who are used to teaching Danish to international doctors.
Attractive salary and pension benefits according to applicable Danish agreements as well as seniority, qualifications, shifts, etc. with the possibility of extra pay if you work more than 37 hours on average per week. Moving to a new country can be a huge challenge, and it can be very difficult to navigate in a new system. We therefore offer private relocation assistance to help you find somewhere to live, tax advice and help with the necessary registration in Denmark as well as with enrolling any children in a school or nursery. The region has excellent nurseries and pre-schools, great private and public schools, and some international schools.

Help with the language
We will help you learn Danish and acquire knowledge about the Danish labour market and work culture through an intensive training course with our inhouse language teacher. We will also provide you with an online pre-boarding course before coming here to get your basic Danish skills up to speed. This can be done while you are still working in your home country, e.g. during your notice period.
Living in a provincial town, yet close to Copenhagen
If you prefer, you can live in Copenhagen, but we would love for you to live close to one of the hospitals in the region, whether in Roskilde, Næstved, Slagelse or Nykøbing Falster. You will find forests, water, countryside or cultural hubs all within easy reach. The regional train does not take long to travel through Region Zealand, and you can drive across the region to Copenhagen within 1–1.5 hours.
