Job offer description

Suitable candidate is responsible for supporting the Oracle databases deployment and ensuring their performance, availability and security according to customer requirements.

Main responsibilities:

  • Analyzing, sizing, implementing and describing databases deployed in Gemalto solutions

  • Analyzing, building and describing solution database migration plans ensuring minimum downtime

  • Analyzing, building and describing database backup policies and disaster recovery plans when under Gemalto responsibility

  • Assisting and potentially substituting Integration team on database activities (RDBMS installation, databases creation, migration plan execution)

  • Assisting solution validation team on benchmark/volume testing

  • Assisting Development team in custom database design

  • Assisting Support team in analyzing database problems

  • Defining solution database architectures or migration plan in the pre-sales phase on demand

  • Reporting and following up problem escalation on databases scripts delivered by Gemalto R&D

  • Reporting and following up problem escalation to Oracle support

  • Reporting activity to the project manager

  • Sharing knowledge by providing technical notes, tools and tips on the job

  • Increasing global Oracle knowledge in integration, development and support teams

Level of expertise:

  • Knowing and applying processes and tools defined by the organization

  • Being able to manage conflict situations with the customers

Requirements:

  • 2 years of significant experience in a similar position

  • Experience in managing Oracle RDBMS in large systems (several Terabytes)

  • Experience of working in team that delivers a high availability service

  • Practical experience in monitoring and tuning a database to prvide a high availability service

  • Oracle performance and tuning skillsSystem administration

  • System and Software High Availability

  • Storage Management

  • Telecom environment knowledge

  • Network administration (TCP/IP/switches, firewall…)

  • Oracle administration DBA (9i to 11g)

  • Oracle Recovery Manager

  • Import/export (and Data Pump)

  • PL-SQL/SQL (including tuning)

  • SQL*Loader

  • Unix-Linux administration

  • Unix/Shell scripts

  • Oracle Data Guard

  • Oracle RAC

  • Oracle Golden Gate

  • Veritas netbackup
