ROLE PROFILE
Post holder should have professional and demonstrative success and experience within the Civils and/or Utility industry. He/she must be able to apply principles and processes required to manage projects of varying sizes. The person will manage the project team members in project delivery and work closely with company and client senior managers and representatives.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:

The role will require you to travel to sites across Ireland with occasional overnight stays, as and when required.

Due to the nature of our works, there may be a requirement for to cover out of hours works i.e., weekends and on some occasion’s nights. Within reason, you must be willing to cover out of hours works, where necessary.

Job requirements

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

  • Manage project teams including subcontractors and consultants to implement the agreed project programmes.
  • Ensure that all Health & Safety requirements are adhered to and promote a Safety culture.
  • Review and approval of project safety documentation.
  • Define a clear set of objectives and accountabilities for all members of the project team.
  • Produce timely progress reports as required by Client.
  • Lead ERA representation at project meetings.
  • Ensure the project remit is respected and a project execution strategy is put in place.
  • Ensure that company systems are always adhered to by the project team.
  • Planning and management of resource to programme, through a series of regular reviews and by planning to ensure the successful delivery of the project programme.
  • Project Contract administration.
  • Development of project baseline programmes and updating of construction programmes.
  • Input to tender submissions.
  • Demonstrate commercial awareness of project remit, calculating cost implications and financial awareness of subcontracts.
  • Provide leadership and direction to the project team through good communication, commitment and accountability.
  • Develop team members by encouragement through coaching, personal knowledge and experience.
  • Lead by example and create a climate of collaboration with all partners by promoting a team etic and showing commitment to all projects.
  • Building working relationships both within the client organisation and external contractors and supply chain members.
  • Recruitment of staff within agreed parameters.
  • Able and willing to travel between projects in Ireland as required.
  • Carry out any other duties as may be required by the business from time to time compatible with the nature of your post.

 
SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
Essential

  • Professional and demonstrative success in managing projects working in the Utilities / Civil Sector.
  • Managed Projects in excess of 5 million Euro.
  • Ability to work on more than one project at a time.
  • Experience working in Urban areas.
  • Results orientated through personal determination, showing tenacity for the delivery of the project remit within agreed timescales.
  • Experience in the use of Microsoft Project.

Desired

  • Experience working within the Power Industry: Trenching, Ducting and Cable works/Substations.
  • Knowledge of roadworks, working to Road Opening Licence conditions and compliance with requirements of “Guidelines for the Opening, Backfilling and Reinstatement of Openings in Public Roads”.
  • Experience of using the Maproad online system.

QUALIFICATIONS/TRAINING
Essential

  • Civil Engineering related qualification.
  • Full Irish Drivers Licence.

Desired

  • Project Management qualification / certification.
  • IOSH Managing Safely in Construction.
  • CIF PSCS.
  • CIF PSDP.
  • Temporary Works Coordinator.
  • Safe Pass.
  • Manual Handling.
