Our team has been expanding and we are now looking for a senior manager to support and strengthen the process of developing the integrated strategic and operational plan for global data and analytics initiatives and ensure organizational alignment and seamless execution.

This is a newly established role.

Responsibilities include strategic and tactical direction and operational oversight of R&D Data and analytics initiative like:

Establish and lead a team through broad practical experiences of many major functions within or across business, ensuring adequate competences and resources in collaboration with the line organization
Establishing and executing project plans supporting the objective of the project with a continuous focus on value creation and optimization of time to production
Contributing to and developing recommendations for strategic plans and decisions to be made by the appropriate governance structure.
Being responsible for project deliverables and ensuring a strong continuous drive in the project.
Designing and implementing frameworks, tools and processes to deliver against the established goals for the projects
Articulate activities across core team members, develops scenario alternatives, identifies risks and mitigation plans, and manages variances in timings, budget and ensures project quality.
Accountable for the translation of the strategy into a robust and realistic project plan.
Accountable for the optimal setup of technical expertise and R&D capability building to support the data science discipline

Who are we?

LEO Pharma has embarked on a growth journey to become the preferred dermatology care partner in the world. Global Research and Development (GRD) is on the forefront of this journey. As a global team GRD spread across the world and counting approximately 1000 permanent employees. We drive the execution of all of LEO Pharma’s drug discovery, design and development together with stakeholders and partners across LEO Pharma as well as external partners around the world.

We have recently formed a new unit in Global Research & Development to bring data-driven processes into our critical business paths, building data systems and applications to support decision making in our current industrial processes and drive new business opportunities. We serve a two-fold purpose modernizing current drug development processes by focusing on more data-driven approaches and seeking out entirely new opportunities for business in dermatology using platform technologies which are data-driven at its core.

In your role as Senior Manager for R&D data and analytics you will work in a cross-functional team consisting of boht technical and subject matter experts. The team will be responsible for building and delivering use cases to support a data driven R&D. As part of the new unit, you and the team are responsible for building smart and sustainable data products in close collaboration with the end users. Interaction with other departments is very strong, using both shared projects and actual job rotations to foster cooperation and people development.

Who are you?

You have experience with digital transformations and bringing solutions from ideas to production in a complex environment (incl governance) and have a general deep technical understanding and a solid track record including failures. Furthermore you have experience with the leadership discipline and enjoy developing people while executing projects and have a “can-do” attitude.

Preferred qualifications and experience

A MSc or similar in a relevant scientific discipline
More than 5 years’ experience with technical transformation initiatives
Solid track record as leader within a technical area
Solid track record in digital strategies development and implementation
Solid experience with change management and working in dynamic, transformative projects
Solid knowledge of project management principles and practices; experience in running agile innovation projects. Solid experience with working in a matrix organization and in including external partners as part of the project.
Solid knowledge / understanding of technologies and trends impacting healthcare and pharma
Strong leadership capabilities (e.g. ability to set direction, ensure project progress, motivate, challenge and create a winning spirit in the team)
