Copenhagen Local/International Reservoir/Petroleum Engineering Ref.: MO-057481 Maersk Oil is looking for experienced Petroleum Technologist Engineering specialist for the department of GPD (Global Production Development) at its head office in Copenhagen. GPD is responsible for field development planning and Business Development support to strengthen Maersk Oil’s global portfolio. Currently operated and producing fields are in the North Sea, Qatar, Brazil, Algeria, Kurdistan and Kazakhstan, with business development activity and other interests around the globe. We Offer The working location is Copenhagen with occasional travel to other locations as necessary for the job. The job title will be Senior or Lead Petroleum Technologist, depending on the successful candidate’s level of experience. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a highly varied portfolio of technical challenges covering the spectrum from tight and structurally complex, fractured carbonates, to high permeability deep water and shallow marine siliciclastic reservoirs. The position will provide extensive exposure to new technology and workflows, as well as, continuous opportunities for learning and development with respect to effective stakeholder and partner involvement. Key Responsibilities •Assist business unit in optimizing the design of our hydraulic sand propped fracs in our tight-oil Kazakhstan development. •Assist business unit in developing standard approaches to well and field surveillance. Play a role in influencing and supporting regional surveillance programs which include well monitoring, pattern optimization, and WRFM initiatives. •Accountable for the delivery of Production Chemistry/Material Selection/ Completion Technology elements of field development planning, in an integrated team environment. •Assist in influencing the operator in the Kurdistan partnership with respect to material selection, completion and artificial lift strategy. Review proposals from operator with respect to Production Technology aspects. •Ensure that HSSE issues are fully embedded within organization and in field development planning and execution work (where applicable). •Peer Assist fellow PTs as part of the company assurance process to ensure robust Field Development Plans. •Represent PT Discipline in providing technical assurance to Maersk Oil’s Projects Maturation Process (PMP) when required. •Work closely with Discipline Chiefs and other business units to build a strong global PT community. Who we are looking for •BSc. level or higher in a relevant academic discipline. •Seven or more years of experience in upstream E&P in multidisciplinary environments. •Familiarity with project economics, value of information and critical uncertainties. •Self-starter with strong organizational, analytical and communication skills. •Fluency in written and spoken technical English. •In addition to the above requirements, the following would be desirable elements in the candidate’s CV: •Experience with data rooms and evaluation of acquisition opportunities •Track record in mentoring and the effective sharing of knowledge to strengthen the Maersk corporate knowledge base. •Experience in reservoir surveillance and production optimisation. •Knowledge of artificial lift systems (SRPs, ESPs, PCPs). •Knowledge of chemical (scale) modeling tools (e.g. Multiscale or Chemscale). •Knowledge of Standard Engineering Software, such as: a)PROSPER, OLGA and GAP for well and network performance modeling. b)SAPHIR for well test interpretation. c)SRod and/or X-DIAG for sucker rod system design. d)SubPump for ESP system design. e)PVTsim for wax, gas hydrate and asphaltene prediction. f)OFM & Babelfish for reservoir surveillance and production database. •Awareness and knowledge of MBAL and/or other material balance tools. •Awareness and knowledge of Eclipse and other software related to the Eclipse suite of programs.
