Job Description

Newly established development team consisting of 8 people is looking for a senior software engineer acting as an architect in addition to a common list of software development responsibilities. Workload balance between architect and software developer responsibilities is fully dependant on the strategic priorities of the team defined by product owner, team lead and team itself.

Team is looking for a person capable of thinking several steps ahead and acting as a true owner. To be able to meet these requirements in current environment, candidate is expected to be ready to step out of his specialization and experience based comfort zone on demand.

Ideal candidate is expected to possess highly effective and proven soft skills. Soft skills need to be scalable to multinational distributed team level. Soft skills, among others, include expectations management; perception management; team’s technology strategy creation and communication to stakeholders; team’s technical competence evolution planning; basic risk management; ability to identify pain points within technology solutions and skills to manage internal and external stakeholders in the way needed to mitigate pain points of concern; ability to make balanced, controlled and successful decisions in the environment of conflicting priorities and requirements. It is expected, for ideal candidate, that these concepts and skills, along with similar ones in the line, are natural part of candidate’s worldview and are important part of candidate’s short-term and long-term acting and decision making.

 

Main tasks:

• Developing global applications using agile methodologies, Java, and technologies like e.g. Hibernate, Spring, Oracle, Struts, JSP, Tomcat technologies

• Responsibility for the overall technical quality

• Active participation in all team activities, including implementation, requirements analysis, defects handling, documentation, and testing

• Creating and improving software architecture and design

• Development and ongoing adjustments regarding team’s technology strategy both in respect of ongoing projects and upcoming initiatives

• Acting as application’s owner and thinking several steps ahead

Requirements to Candidates

• Solid practical and theoretical knowledge in the fields of computer science, software development and enterprise software development

• Good knowledge about established hands-on technologies, current trends and proven solutions for common architectural problems

• Several years of extensive experience with software development in Java

• Extensive experience in designing object-oriented software

• Enterprise level knowledge and experience in AngularJS will be a big plus, though not mandatory

• Professional education or degree in IT or similar education 

• Fluent in spoken and written English
