… then a training curriculum leading to your certification as a Restaurant Expert – in Germany known as Restaurantfachfrau or Restaurantfachmann – could be just right for you.

Training duration and key subjects

The training consists of a three year curriculum combining on-the-job training at our hotel with classes at the nearby vocational school. Key subjects include:

  • welcoming and hosting guests
  • waiting on guests, serving food and drinks
  • structuring service processes
  • arranging banquet rooms and tables
  • managing events and celebrations
  • preparing sales proposals
  • managing accounting systems
  • food, beverage and service know-how essentials

Vocational school

Periods of on-the-job training alternate with classroom sessions at the Pirmasens Vocational School, with each period lasting several weeks.

Your professional perspectives

The official Restaurant Expert certification is an excellent door opener for a career in all aspects of the restaurant business, starting from the ‘commis de rang’ or waiter to the Department Head, Restaurant Manager or F&B (food and beverage) Manager. The training offers a solid qualification for  positions in the gastronomy, catering and event business and of course for the management of your own enterprise.
