R&D Project Manager

FUNCTION Within the R&D department (which can be located over different countries in EMEA), leading and coordinating of product development projects from the first idea to the market introduction Facilitate team working / support team members (engineers, CADs, technicians) + close collaboration with other departments (operations, product management, sales) Act as core team leader across different EMEA departments (R&D, operations, product management) with full result responsibility for the project(s) Manage project resources, budgets and schedule Respect or beat product target costs Prepare and present status update for projects Represent R&D in front of customers to analyze customer requests and requirements and defend the technical part of projects to stakeholders Be able to work out concepts / designs in 3D CAD Interact with other global TE R&D facilities Network with Universities and other research institutes Contribute in the ideation for new product ideas and services PROFILE Master or PhD in engineering (mechatronics, mechanical) or similar >10 year experience in product development (e.g. mechanical design or molded and sheet metal parts or engineering plastics) >5 year experience in project management / managing project teams 3D CAD skills Pro/Engineer (or other similar CAD packages) Strong lean product development skills (6 sigma belt is a plus) MS office Fluent in English (any other language is a plus) Strong result orientation Energizing Creative Motivation and Leadership skills Open minded Problem solving, hands-on Organized and Structured Presentation skills Willing to travel 10%
