The Role
With the continued growth of our business, we are looking to strengthen our commercial team by adding a Quantity Surveyor.
Reporting to the Commercial Manager, the Quantity Surveyor will assist the Senior Quantity Surveyor and take commercial responsibility and ownership of the project, you will work closely with the Contracts Manager, Project Manager, and the construction team to ensure the project is successfully delivered while maintaining relationships, maximising commercial returns, and managing risk.
Key Responsibilities
- Preparing tender and contract documentation.
- Prepare and agree valuations, including generating certificates and invoices/payments.
- Variations - prepare with adequate/appropriate records, agree as works progress.
- Update projected Final Accounts on regular basis and prepare, submit and agree on final accounts with contractor and client in a timely manner.
- Appointing and managing subcontractors and suppliers.
- Undertaking cost analysis of subcontractor packages.
- Preparing monthly costs reports to management
- Manage site records, admin, and document control.
Job requirements
Skills and Experience
- Relevant Third level qualification in Quantity Surveying
- At least 3-5+ years' post graduate QS experience working with a main contractor
- Strong IT skills, specifically in MS Office packages, particularly Excel, and Buildsoft Cubit / CostX.
- Ability to lead the procurement, negotiation, and letting of complex sub-contracts.
- Ability to communicate articulately, both verbally and in writing.
- Effective time management, organisational, interpersonal, and negotiation skills.
- Can balance the need to be assertive and pragmatic, when dealing with a broad range of stakeholders.
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday

Education:
- Bachelor's (preferred)
Experience:
- Quantity Surveying: 3 years (required)
