Would you like to help us ensure quality, efficiency and continuous development within wind power by building grid connections for offshore wind farms? Join us and become Senior Protection Engineer in Transformers & HV Components which is responsible for planning, designing and purchasing components for on- and offshore substations for wind farms. You will join our team of skilled specialists working with HV equipment in our substations. The department is part of Wind Power, which has 1400 employees and is one of five business units in DONG Energy. Wind Power is the world’s largest developer and operator of offshore wind power, and we use our unique knowledge in all phases of our wind turbine projects. During the last 20 years, we have developed and constructed the largest portfolio of offshore wind farms in Northern Europe. You may choose freely to be based either at our Danish offices in Gentofte in the Greater Copenhagen area or Skærbæk in Fredericia or alternatively at our London office in the United Kingdom on local terms and conditions. However, you should expect some travelling in relation to your work. Areas of responsibility As Senior Protection Engineer, you will primarily work with integrated relay protection as well as with process data analyses, power system disturbances and fault analysis of electrical installations onshore and offshore with voltage levels from 0.4 kV to 400 kV. Furthermore, your key duties will be to •prepare protection philosophy for on- and offshore wind farm substations •perform current transformer and voltage transformer calculations as well as preparing technical requirements for protection systems in tender documents for offshore and onshore substation •review suppliers' protection design documents, protection schematics, relay configuration, factory acceptance test and site acceptance test procedures •participate in factory acceptance testing and final site acceptance testing and commissioning of protection systems on site and assist in preparing substation interlocking logic and SCADA point lists •investigate and analyse high-voltage faults from relay disturbance records and prepare technical reports. Your profile You hold a relevant degree in electrical engineering or similar and are interested in working with electrical infrastructure for wind farms. It is essential that your required professional skills are based on extensive, relevant protection design, relay testing experience and knowledge of installed protection systems, ideally including experience with high-voltage installations. Moreover, you will be familiar with relay configuration and communication tools from various suppliers preferably from Siemens and Schneider and you will have experience from using the IEC 61850 communication protocol in relation to your work. Experience with offshore wind farms and electronic document handling systems is an advantage. As we operate in an international environment, it is essential that you speak and write English fluently. You will have personal drive combined with both an analytical and responsible approach to your work.
