Job offer description

As a project engineer/project designer, you’ll be responsible for several technical construction files related to architectural concrete design elements (customised wall elements, balconies, etc.). You look for suitable solutions that facilitate prefabrication and assembly. You’re responsible for modelling prefab elements (incl. reinforcement, anchorage, etc.) in the 3D Tekla Design software and finalising the production plans. Additionally, you’ll arrange communication with the client/suppliers/subcontractors, participate in site meetings, and monitor the file’s progress after the plans have been approved.

Specifically, you will be responsible for the thorough nature of the studies and analyses, i.e. collecting the key data and establishing the principle cross sections. To that end, you might organise a kick-off meeting, potentially in collaboration with our head of department. You study the details, always aiming to arrive at aesthetically, economically, and technically sound solutions. You’ll be working with the department head to define the reinforcement used in the concrete elements. You are responsible for 3D modelling, and creating general, formwork, and reinforcement plans. You request (or draw up) analysis reports for built-in or anchoring elements and ensure that they are ordered.

Are you ambitious, and are you eager to continue growing? If so, we offer a wide range of options bound to keep you occupied and satisfied! For example, you’ll eventually be able to lead projects, assisted by a fellow drafter/designer in the production of detail drawings. That way, you get to focus on studies and analyses, modelling, and leading projects. We are hard at work developing and incorporating our Tekla 3D Design software. It’s an ongoing process that you can contribute to. Or do you have your sights set on eventually transitioning to a more commercial role? We are committed and enthusiastic about helping you pave your career path at the Verhelst Group.

Your profile:

  • You have a degree in architectural studies, e.g. Civil/Industrial Engineer, Bachelor of Architecture, Bachelor of Applied Architecture, or the equivalent through experience.
  • Are you a school leaver, or have you accumulated significant experience? We’ll provide you with a customised training programme!
  • You’re enthusiastic about working with our advanced Tekla design software. Do you have some experience in 2D or 3D modelling, but haven’t worked with Tekla yet? Not to worry. We make sure you get the right Tekla training.
  • You are eager to learn and become an architectural concrete expert.
  • You are well organised with strong technical skills.
  • Your commute to Oudenburg or Deerlijk is a reasonable distance.

Our offer:

  • An open-ended contract (Monday through Friday), meal vouchers, group and hospitalisation insurance, and 12 extra days off (ADV) to enjoy on top of the annual 20-day statutory leave entitlement
  • A long career full of learning opportunities, including career development opportunities based on your interests
  • Stability and job security in a relaxed, friendly working environment nearby The Verhelst Group is a financially sound business with four generations of experience.
