Tyvek® is a flash-spun nonwoven fabric with leading market positions in construction, protective apparel, medical packaging and others. The proprietary Tyvek® technology involves a wide variety of engineering disciplines, such as chemical and mechanical engineering, polymer chemistry & processing, polymer solutions, electrostatics, aerodynamics, material science and more.

DuPont Luxembourg is looking to recruit a

Process Engineer into its growing organization in order to further strengthen the unique technology position of Tyvek®.

Your responsibilities:

  • Your main role will be to participate in process and technology developments. As such, you will apply your talents very broadly
  • Your work will embrace many aspects: daily follow-up of a production line, conceptual design and design calculations, project basic data, work with the engineering department, improvements on existing asset, process safety
  • You will actively participate in testing hardware on commercial plants
  • Field of applications can/will evolve over time.

Qualifications:

  • Master in Process, Chemical or Mechanical Engineering Science
  • Broad and general interest in technology
  • Conceptual & analytical thinking, creativity, global approach to a problem and practical capabilities are equally important for this specific position
  • Self-starter and initiative / Interdisciplinary Team-work / Capability to acquire new competencies
  • Fluent in German and English

Employer

DuPont started production in Luxembourg in 1962 with the manufacturing of Mylar polyester films. Today, the DuPont location in Contern produces an array of highly innovative materials for industries as diverse as construction, printing, automotive and landscaping. The site has roughly 1000 employees, and expansion of its activities are foreseen with the new production line for the flagship product Tyvek®, which is used for protective garments, home wrap insulation and medical packaging to mention just a few applications. The new manufacturing line will become operational in 2020, and will require 120 new jobs in various positions.
