Are you interested and experienced in stem cell differentiation, human tissue models and 3D bioprinting?

DTU Health Tech is offering a postdoctoral position focused on developing advanced living models of the human brain's vasculature. As a postdoc, you will lead the differentiation and characterization of stem cell sources and carry out 3D bioprinting of engineered tissue models. 

The project is part of an international collaboration with leading experts at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden, offering the opportunity for extended research stays at both DTU and KTH.

Salary and terms of employment 
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Danish Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed upon with the relevant union.

Job requirements

Responsibilities and qualifications
We are looking for a creative and ambitious researcher with a PhD within cellular biology, molecular biology, bioengineering or similar. You must have demonstrated the ability to perform high quality research, having at least one paper published as a major contributor.

Your primary responsibilities will be:

  • Establish protocols for and perform stem cell differentiation towards several neuronal and vascular phenotypes
  • Characterize cell populations using gene expression and microscope analysis
  • Contribute to establishing embedded 3D bio-printing protocols for vascularized neuronal tissues
  • Employ 2-photon microscopy to monitor changes in vasculatures in real time

Experience in several of these areas is expected. 

You will also participate actively in the supervision of bachelor, master, and PhD students. 

You will plan and conduct most of your research independently, but at the same time, you will be part of a larger, team-driven project, and should find this exciting. You should be scientifically curious and motivated by overcoming challenges as they occur. You should be a capable communicator in English have solid experience in academic writing.

As a formal qualification, you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent).
