Job offer description

As a registered nurse in Germany, your responsibilities encompass supporting or taking over the activities of daily living of patients, including personal hygiene, feeding, elimination and mobility. Additionally, your tasks are medical monitoring and providing medical care to patients.

  • Delivers professional and high standards of patient care in accordance with the Professional practice
  • Admits patients from Emergency Room or from other department
  • Assists physician during rounds and performance of assessment and procedures
  • Carries out physician order
  • Explains procedures and treatment ordered to gain patient’s cooperation
  • Maintains a helpful, courteous approach to patients, visitors and colleagues at all times
  • Assesses care needs and implement and evaluate plans of care which meet the patient’s
    physical and emotional needs
  • Carries out comprehensive observations and to implement emergency procedures as
    necessary
  • Maintains effective communications with other members of the health care team
  •  Provides pre- and post-procedure care to patients
  • Administer drugs according to hospital policy and ensure the safe keeping of drugs at all
    times
  • Explains post-operative instructions and any special instructions/information required by
    the Surgeon
  • Maintains an up-to-dat knowledge of appropriate clinical practice and to undertake support
    own continuing professional development
  • Participate and contribute to practice developments at ward level
  • Reports any incident, complaint or hazard to the Head Nurse or Nurse Supervisor.
  • Teach patients and significant others how to manage their illness, by explaining: posttreatment home care needs, diet/nutrition/exercise programs, self administration of medication, if needed
  • Maintains medical inventory
  • Displays professionalism while completing multiple urgent tasks in a timely manner
  • Records all care information concisely, accurately and completely, in a timely manner, in the appropriate format and on the appropriate forms
  • Participates in or initiates CPR and Codes when necessary
  • Attends and supports in-service education or training programs
     
Job requirements
  • Certified nurse (registered nurse) with three years of vocational training (m/f/d) or international Bachelor of Science in Nursing (m/f/d)
  • Until recognition of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing or Nursing Education in Germany is achieved, your employment will be in the capacity of a nursing assistant on a general ward.
