OIP is based in Belgium and develops opto-electronical instruments for various applications in space and defense sector. We are looking for an Optical Engineer for our Space Department. Your responsibilities: You create optical concepts for quotes and projects. You develop elaborated designs for optical instruments, you perform tolerance and stray light analyses. You write design reports which you present to the customer. You will participate in the system engineering of space projects for which you coordinate the design and test activities over the different professional disciplines. Next to that, you monitor the project interfaces with the other project partners and define functional as well as environmental tests based on the project specifications. The preparation of technical presentations as well as the reporting and defending the technical aspects of the projects to the customer will also be part of your job.

Profile:

Master in Physics, or an equivalent experience with a strong interest in optical instruments.

Experience with optical design programs and/or mechanical structures, preferably in a project environment.

You are a team player and you focus on results.

You are stress resistant and have no problems with deadlines.

A strong affinity with space projects is an absolute must.

You fluently communicate in English.
