About the department

The job is located in Corporate Occupational Health and Safety (COHS) which is a global centre of excellence under Corporate People and Organisation in Novo Nordisk. The unit consists of project managers and occupational health and safety experts. COHS’ role is twofold: via a key account manager and help desk set up to support the organisation directly with local challenges and to set global direction for the health and safety work in Novo Nordisk.

The Health part of the unit is responsible for employee health, back to work counselling, organisational psychology and health counselling.



The job

We offer a challenging managerial position with focus on strategy implementation, anchoring of occupational health and safety (OHS) processes, stakeholder management and communication.



As Occupational Safety Director you will be the manager for 10 internal consultants and project managers within safety, ergonomics, indoor climate and chemistry/biology.



The department provides global counselling across production sites, offices and research labs in Novo Nordisk, primarily executed long-distance i.e. via virtual meetings and easy-to-use tools and templates. In addition, the department has a special role in supporting the Danish organisation on a more operational level, i.e. contact to the Danish Working Environment Authority, obtaining approval of genetically modified organisms and providing legislation monitoring as well as providing mandatory OHS training of managers and OHS representatives in Denmark.

You are an experienced leader or a high potential talent - with strong strategic and operational skills, combined with acknowledged communication and change management skills. Your experience allows you to turn complex matters into simple solutions.

You act as a competent sparring partner to your team. You coach and empower employees to deliver excellent results and to take responsibility for their own professional and personal development. You lead and embrace changes and exhibit a structured and convincing approach to transitioning people and organisation from current to desired state.



You understand the challenges of developing and implementing cross-organisational senior management initiatives supporting the sustainable future of Novo Nordisk. At the same time you strive to support local management’s ability to keep the business running smoothly.

You are able to document your business accomplishments via senior management references.



English is our corporate language, and hence it is a prerequisite that you speak and write English fluently. You work comfortably in MS Office (experienced in PowerPoint). It is also important that you approach tasks and colleagues with a positive attitude, energy and a good sense of humour.
