IP/Optical Network business unit presents Nokia right on top for global leadership in IP and Optical networking providing a comprehensive end-to-end IP Networking portfolio. As NPI team in Antwerp we are responsible for design, integration, problems resolution, new product introduction (demos/ trials). Work in a team or independently for definition and execution of demos, proof of concepts, type approvals tests, field trials, and in general any New Product Introduction (NPI) activity with our customer for any new product or solution in the Optics portfolio.

What you will learn and contribute to

As part of our team, you will:

  • do pre/post-sales activities for optical projects in East-West Europe, 1830PSS family, NMS ( NFM-T / NSP)
  • do network verification testing, current and future network release validation and test documentation
  • do 1830PSS planning using EPT planning tool to generate network design and CPB configuration files
  • build and maintain strong internal and external customer relationships through delivery of quality of service
  • overcom project obstacles and hurdles, manage time and responsibilities with appropriate ability
  • provide project engineering services to East-West Europe customer business opportunities on a planned and ad hoc basis
  • provide general technical support and advice to other teams, customers and Nokia representatives
  • develop own engineering skills within the IP Routing & Transport business division products and 3rd party equipment (where necessary)
  • build and maintain positive working relationships with own engineering organisation, other business division engineering organisations, internal and external customers
  • provide support to Project Managers in the execution of Networks projects
  • create customer specific documentation to achieve the completion of any given requirement (where necessary), for example test criteria, methods of procedure, network implementation guides, site design packs etc

Your skills and experience

You have:

  • The ability to proactively seek out information sources and network with others in order to find answers to ongoing issues.
  • The ability to work alongside others in a project environment as well as working independently
  • The ability to produce work that meets strict quality guidelines and to scheduled deadlines
  • The ability to act in a professional manner within a customer facing organisation
  • The ability to pro-actively learn new technologies and share knowledge with others
  • Good report writing and documentation skills
  • Flexibility (work in other locations and/or outside normal working hours when required)
  • P.C. Literate, including MS Word, MS Project, MS Excel and MS Power Point
  • You are OK to travel on business
  • The ability to demonstrate good analytical skills
