DCS Library Specialist for Process Automation at Novo Nordisk Engineering

About the role

We are seeking an DCS Library Specialist to join our Process Automation team consisting of approximately 70 skilled and dedicated professionals in our automation department working with Distributed Control System (DCS). As a team, we provide consultancy, development, implementation, and validation of automation solutions for the pharma and biotech industries.

Your role will be key in leading the technical development of our Process Control Device Libraries, based on ABB 800xA PCDeviceLib. You will engage in strategic discussions, support department management, and lead our technical development towards future goals.

How you might spend your days
As a DCS Library Application Specialist, you’ll:

  • Design, develop, implement, qualify, and support our Process Control Device Library based on ABB 800xA PCDeviceLib
  • Develop and optimize Automation Methods and Strategies to meet our customers’ challenges and share state-of-the-art knowledge with colleagues and partners
  • Interact with process experts and colleagues with expertise in surrounding systems and equipment such as Manufacturing Execution System (MES), Historian systems, instruments, and production equipment
  • Lead Automation Strategies and Architectures to support our sister departments internationally and expand NNE’s Process Automation engagement

The miles you’ve walked
In all positions there are some things that are needed, and others a bonus. We believe these qualifications are needed for you to do well in this role:

  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Biotech Engineering or related life science engineering.
  • 8+ years of ABB System 800xA development experience in Pharmaceutical, Biotech, or Life Sciences industries with focus on ABB 800xA PCDeviceLib.
  • Expert knowledge in ANS/ISA-88 (process control) standard.
  • Expert knowledge and application in cGMP manufacturing and regulatory regulations and requirements for biologics/pharmaceuticals.
