What We Are Looking For
You will take on the responsibility of product owner for one or more middleware platforms. As a
DevOps Middleware engineer, you will help automate the infrastructure platforms so that
customers can create infrastructure platforms via self-service. The application platforms are made
available to CM's internal users. You will maintain close contact with platform users (developers
and business) to meet their needs, including continuous delivery, continuous deployment, and
infrastructure as code. You must be willing to work in a 24/7 on-call system (once every 6 weeks).
Proactive monitoring is carried out via monitoring, change management, capacity management,
lifecycle management, and service level management. You will participate in projects and are
strongly motivated by exploring new technologies. Examples include:
Transition to microservices via the Redhat Openshift Container platform
Support for No-SQL databases
Troubleshooting via centrally available log files and system metrics
Projects can be both business-oriented (deployment of applications to pre-production and
production environments) and technically oriented (technical upgrades, new technologies, etc.).
The middleware team is part of the Infrastructure Services (IS) department. LCM's infrastructure
environment includes the following products:
VMware, Redhat Openshift Container Platform, HPE Superdome2
HPE Unix, Redhat Enterprise Linux, Microsoft Windows
Oracle DB, MS SQL Server, MongoDB
MS AD, Oracle OID/OAM
Oracle Weblogic, TomEE, Springboot
SAG Webmethods, Oracle SOA, Pivotal RabbitMQ
You will have the opportunity to follow training courses as needed.
You are solution-oriented and enjoy working in a team
You hold a bachelor's degree in computer science and preferably have two years of relevant
middleware experience
You have at least a theoretical knowledge of the requirements for building a cloud-ready
application
Knowledge and experience with one or more of the following technologies is a significant
advantage:
o Oracle SOA Suite
o Software AG WebMethods Suite
o Pivotal RabbitMQ
o Oracle Cloud Control
o Oracle OID/OAM
o Oracle Siebel
o TomEE
o Springboot
You are motivated by a DevOps culture and new technology
You are familiar with version control, build automation, deploy automation, monitoring,
and self-healing
Knowledge and experience with one or more tools is an advantage: Gitlab, Jenkins, Maven,
Nexus, AWX, Ansible, Python/Jython, Linux shell, ELK, InfluxDB, Telegraph, etc.
You demonstrate great curiosity and are open-minded to exploring out-of-the-box
technology
You work flexibly within a self-organizing agile middleware team, but you can also function
well across team boundaries. You adapt easily to a new environment with ever-changing
demands.
You are willing to work in a 24/7 on-call system (once every 6 weeks)
