For the Design team within our Equipment Management department based in Brande, Denmark, we are looking for a Mechanical Engineer. The department is involved in all parts of the equipment process, and its key role is to ensure the availability of installation tools as well as transport and lifting equipment. All equipment is developed in close cooperation with the Development team, and our business is based on “internal rental”, i.e. on the rental of equipment to Siemens project sites, both onshore and offshore. The Equipment Management department is part of Siemens Wind Power’s Onshore organization and currently employs a total of approx. 170 staff at the main location in Brande and the two equipment centers in Tinglev and Esbjerg.

What are my responsibilities?

· Developing transport and lifting equipment. · Carrying out Design Risk Analyses (DRAs) and design reviews. · Carrying out strength analyses of transport and lifting equipment by use of ANSYS. · Carrying out strength assessment reports, hand calculations and reports in Mathcad. · Contributing to the continuous improvement of transport and lifting equipment, i.a. in regard to strength optimizations. · Handling of engineering change notes. · Joining the Engineering Change Management board. · Contributing to the development of product requirements specifications.

What do I need to qualify for this job?

· You have a degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent technical degree, combined with 3-5 years of experience from mechanical or structural engineering, preferably within design. · You have experience with Finite Element Analyses (FEM), ANSYS, Mathcad, NX Unigraphics (version 8) and 3D modeling. · You are familiar with Euro codes (EC0, EC1, EC3, EC7), the standards EN 13155 & EN 12195 as well as DNV, GL, and IMO norms. · You are independent, result-oriented and have strong analytical skills, and you are a dedicated team player capable of motivating the members of your team. · You thrive in a multicultural environment and possess excellent communication and English skills, both orally and in writing.
