Job offer description

You will conceptualise designs, system requirements and performance parameters and establish specifications for tender calling. You will also assess proposals and manage the design aspects of contracts on a variety of rolling stock types, including maintenance vehicles and depot equipment. You will work on initiatives to improve rolling stock fleet reliability and carry out investigations into train incidents affecting reliability of the railway. In the course of these works, you will lead a team of engineers and technical staff. You will also contribute your specialised skills and knowledge in developing the Division’s Engineering Standards and the Engineering Master Plan.

Requirements:

• Degree in Mechanical Engineering

• 5 to 10 years of experience in the design, manufacture, commissioning, operation or maintenance of rolling stock and depot equipment

• A candidate with postgraduate qualifications and affiliation with recognised professional bodies such as IMechE is preferred

• A team player who has strong communication and interpersonal skills
