The Linux Operational team today consists of 3 enthusiasts, working closely with the rest of the organization.

You become part of a dynamic and professionally competent team in Denmark. You will get academically talented colleagues, which are just as passionate as you.

We are looking for colleagues, who will work as a part of our Linux team and handle day to day operational tasks such as file systems filling up (log, tmp, customer data, investiganging high load, restore files and the such). You will be part of our on-call service every 4th week.

Since the company language is English, you will need to speak and write English fluently.

Position Overview

Responsible for server configuration/updating, server maintenance, -monitoring and expansion of server environments of Enterprise customers and related services architecture.
Our server environments consist of webservers, database servers (mysql/postgres).

  • Responsibilities include performance tuning; troubleshooting system hardware, software, and documenting knowledge accordingly.
  • Responsibilities include monitoring system load/stress testing; escalating application problems to vendor.
  • Operational support and on-call service every 4th week (24/7)
  • Handle escalated tickets/tasks from the Customer care team (no end customer contact)
     

Essential Job Functions

  • Installing, updating, running servers consistent with product definitions
  • Diagnose troubles identified per server by monitoring
  • Set-up, test and basic tuning of webservers
  • Documenting issues identified on servers and actions made in the server log
  • Work with various third parties (Engineers, System Architects, Infrastructure Vendors, Customer Service, Developers) to narrow down problems and achieve resolution.
  • Clearly and effectively document information in the basecamp system enabling communication to other staff members, opening tickets and follow up on escalated problems.
  • Accomplishes department goals by accepting ownership of tasks and issues
  • Exploring opportunities to add value to job accomplishments
  • Knowledge of SQL, basic queries and data manipulation and backup/restore databases and tables
  • On-call Duty: Respond to 24/7 alarms in accordance with procedures
