Senior Electrical Systems Specialist

KK Wind Solutions is the leading supplier of electrical, mechanical systems for the biggest wind turbine manufacturers in the world – paving the way for a sustainable future. At our office in Ikast, Denmark, you will join our System Management team along with 3 other senior specialists, including an electrical systems wiz like yourself. Special focus for this position is on High Power UPS.

We function as a go-to expert team, guiding the project teams who develop our state-of-the-art systems and supporting one of our global key customers. We enjoy versatile tasks and explorative approaches as we help ensure the best possible system design across quality, standards, costs and much more.

Pave the way for excellent electrical systems design

Together with your colleague, you will be the brain behind securing the best possible system design solutions for our largest development area: electrical systems. When R&D projects or customers have questions or challenges regarding product standards and regulations, material optimisations, incidents at our customers’ wind turbines, etc., they rely on you to guide them towards the best solutions and integrate new learnings into our R&D practices.

Thus, you will take on a broad role with endless possibilities, but some of your main tasks will be to:

 

  • Secure customer satisfaction and that KK is perceived as a professional partner with high knowledge level regarding high power UPS systems
  • Support Product Management and Sales in customer events and offerings with technical expertise
  • Follow development in relevant standards and industry practices, to be able to influence and predict future product requirements
  • Generate ideas for improvements in products, working methods, tools and processes
  • Contribute to improvement projects regarding products, working methods, tools and processes
  • Development and sourcing of technology, keeping contacts with key suppliers and partners
  • Analyse reliability data and give advice regarding improvements/preventive actions
  • Secure modularization and clever design reuse in the product portfolio, increasing the product quality and optimizing R&D effort
  • Secure that overall UPS system designs are according to standards, best practice and technology road maps
  • Drive/participate in UPS design and test specification/report reviews
  • Facilitate root cause analysis for defects and assist the quality manager and platform gate keepers with 8D reports and customer dialogue
  • Develop and support the IPR generation in the department
  • In cooperation with internal stakeholders maintain technology road maps, securing right technology in right time

 

You can expect up to 20 travel days a year, primarily to visit suppliers, customers and universities and attend conferences.

 

Experienced electrical engineer with an eye for spotting unseen potential

  • You have a degree in electrical engineering, preferably at master’s level 
  • Minimum 5 years of experience as Senior Specialist or System Manager within large UPS systems – must have.
  • You have an innovative approach and are excellent at attaining new knowledge and identifying opportunities within challenges
  • You are good at building relationships and communicating with customers and colleagues alike
  • It is a plus if you have experience with system design for the offshore environment, cooling systems, lightning protection, safety regulations and testing and certification of systems.
