For a dynamic and fast-growing start-up in Belgium we are looking for a Junior Data Scientist who is looking to work in a fast-paced environment.
FUNCTION
Main purpose of the job: design and implementation of data mining and analysis algorithms & the communication of reports and quality metrics for current production processes.
As a member of our Data Science Team you share our passion for machine learning and data analysis.
You will build predictive human behavior models based on sensor data (such as accelerometer and gyroscope) and location information to contribute to the company's mobile sensor platform
In this job you will need to apply your statistical and mathematical background to real-life big-data problems, and expand your machine learning knowledge on a day to day basis.
In this role there's a close collaboration with the Data Engineering Team as your work is pushed through the release process, while you will need to monitor the quality of the production models.
PROFILE
Master degree in computer science or related field. Both recent graduates and candidates with a first experience are welcome.
Strong mathematical background.
Quick learner with excellent analytical skills.
Experience with object-oriented and multithreaded programming.
Basic knowledge of Python.
Passion for machine learning and data analysis.
Assets:
- Advanced Python knowledge and experience
- Scikit-learn, Pandas, Numpy, Matplotlib
- Experience with Spark or the Hadoop eco-system
- Machine learning, data mining, data visualization
- Knowledge of Dutch
