A hotel is in search of an experienced night receptionist for a countryside hotel

The hotel is located on small Hankø island – a pearl in the Oslo Fjord. It’s about 2 hours from Oslo and the closest city is Fredrikstad.

The hotel has 102 rooms, a SPA and conference center, a restaurant, and a bar. The hotel restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Mostly buffet, during the summer season they also have a la carte.

Duties of Night receptionist

The Receptionist has to show his/her initiative and flexibility towards work and how to organize the hotel and her work more effectively.

To be ready for being asked to help somebody to do something which may not be connected to night administration work.

Generally, the work time is from 22.55 til 07.05 (it is not a rule). The working time is fixed by the schedule.

It is important to know fire safety demands (which will be introduced at the workplace).

Receiving a shift and dispatching it (it is important that two shifts will meet)

Responsible for the cash register and for transactions.

Receiving goods and registration. To monitor that everything that is brought (or taken) to other departments will be written down.

To assure that necessary lists are being displayed and updated regularly.

Quests service: to see that all messages will be forwarded to quests.

To assure that the administration desk and lobby are clean and in order. Control that saloons and public rooms are in order.

Control tour in a hotel: fire safety; all the doors are locked. Watching the order. Also to see that un waited persons could not enter to the hotel.

In the morning open conference rooms, training rooms, and wardrobes. Switch the lights on. Dispatching the shift.

Location: near Fredrikstad

Working period: ASAP – until Christmas

Salary: 185 NOK/h+10,2% vacation money

Accommodation: 3000 NOK/month (double room). We offer housing in the worker’s dormitory which is located on the premises of the hotel.

Food: 2000 NOK/month (3 times a day, even when not working).

Average working hours per month are 162 h. Summarized working hours with the calculation period of the whole working period.

The approximate monthly salary with regular hours is 185*162*10,2%= 33 026 NOK before taxes (vacation money and overtime addition of 50% would be paid at the end of the contract). Taxes are ~25%.
