if you have a knack for sales and can express yourself well –

if you are a team player with a quick grasp:

… then a training curriculum leading to your certification as a Hotel Industry Expert – in Germany known as Hotelfachfrau or Hotelfachmann – could be just right for you.

Training duration and key subjects

The training consists of a three year curriculum combining on-the-job training at our hotel with classes at the nearby vocational school. Key subjects include:

  • guest relations, from the first welcome to assistance and support
  • housekeeping including basic room set-up and quality check
  • waiting on guests, serving food and drinks
  • sales negotiations and preparation of sales proposals
  • cash management
  • event planning, organization and management
  • development, implementation and monitoring of marketing tools
  • personnel planning, guest correspondence and food&beverage management

Vocational school

Periods of on-the-job training alternate with classroom sessions at the Pirmasens Vocational School, with each period lasting several weeks.

Your professional perspectives

The official Hotel Industry Expert certification is an excellent door opener for a career in all aspects of the hotel industry, starting from housekeeping, reception, booking management and sales all the way to the restaurant business, catering and administration. Your career can lead to a position as head of a department, hotel manager or owner of your own enterprise.
