NVD Ireland have an excellent opportunity for an experienced HGV Maintenance Team Senior Supervisor to join our in-house maintenance operation based in Dublin. Excellent reward package available for the right candidate. Must be a fully qualfied HGV Mechanic with post qualification experience. 

 

 Job Responsibilities

 

  • Staff & shift roster management.
  • Agree and deliver the weekly work plan.
  • Interaction with on-site parts supplier to ensure on time parts delivery.
  • Tooling - assist in controlling regular asset calibration.
  • Quality survey of all paperwork before submission.
  • Carry out informative toolbox talks. 
  • Ensure ongoing safe working practices.  
  • Interaction with Transport Planning & HR Departments.
  • Daily review of driver defects and advise action plan. 

 

Requirements & Qualifications

 

  • Strong leadership, motivation and influencing skills: ability to engage with people at all levels in order to agree and deliver on clear actions plans.
  • Determination and ability to advance the Maintenance Performance agenda: a clear enthusiasm and commitment to delivering the necessary staff upskilling, on the job training, and mentoring of apprentices in order to achieve continuous improvement in the maintenance performance. 
  • Superb attention to detail and drive to deliver to the highest standards.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills: ability to engage with staff, internal customers, and stakeholders at all levels in order to understand their concerns and identify innovative solutions and opportunities for improvement.
  • HGV Motor Trade Technical qualification essential.
  • Minimum five years’ relevant industry supervisory experience within a Road Transport Maintenance / workshop environment.
  • Working knowledge of Health & Safety legislation. 
  • Good IT skills - knowledge of Maintenance Management systems & MS Office.

Applicants must be fully qualified HGV Mechanics with 5 or more years working on trucks and trailers. Candidates must speak English.
