Job Summary:
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistants (HCA) to join their team on a full-time basis. As a Healthcare Assistant, you will play a crucial role in assisting clients with daily living activities, adhering to their personalized care plans. This position requires a reliable and empathetic individual with a strong commitment to delivering high standards of care.
Driving is essential.
Working Hours:
- Day Shift: Between 8 AM and 8 PM
- Split Shifts: Morning (typically four 1-hour calls) and shorter Lunchtime/Evening calls (typically 30 minutes each).
- Weekend Availability: Required
- Outside of these hours may be required at times.
Key Responsibilities:
- Personal Care: Assist clients with personal hygiene, dressing, mobility, and other activities of daily living, in line with their care plan.
- Emotional and Social Support: Provide practical and emotional support, ensuring clients feel comfortable and supported in their own homes.
- Travel: Drive to clients’ homes to deliver care services, ensuring punctuality and reliability.
- Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate records of care provided, including detailed reports on the client’s condition and any changes observed.
- Policy Adherence: Follow all company policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Training: Participate in continuous professional development and training sessions to enhance skills and knowledge applicable to the role.
- Client Care Plan Implementation: Work collaboratively with the care team to ensure the client’s care plan is implemented effectively and efficiently.
- Infection Prevention and Control: Implement infection control measures in line with best practices to ensure client safety.

Essential Requirements:
- Experience: Minimum 1 year of experience in a healthcare, community, or social care setting, particularly in supporting individuals with disabilities or caring for older persons.
- Driving License: Full, clean driver’s license and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
- Certification: QQI Level 5 in Healthcare Support or equivalent (preferred). Must be willing to obtain certification if not already possessed.

Desirable Skills and Training:
- QQI level 5 or nursing qualification is necessary. Training can be provided.
- Specialised Training: Experience or training in areas such as epilepsy care, positive behavioural support, or Management of Actual or Potential Aggression (MAPA) is advantageous.
- Infection Control: Knowledge and experience in infection prevention and control.
- Continuous Learning: Willingness to engage in further specialized training within the disability sector.

- Starting salary of €32,691 with salary paid weekly.

- Licence/Certification: Full, clean driver’s license (essential) This role will require you to be confident and capable of driving in Ireland.
