The Gym Instructor role is to be able to deliver services up to the quality of standards settled by the hotel. The attitude, behaviour and communication, skills are of vital importance to meet and exceed the guest’s expectations. Works with dedication, passion, and personal attention to deliver the brand promise. Under the guidance of the Health Club Manager, he/she will look closely at the working procedures of the Health Club and will welcome the guests and give advice.  In charge of Indoor Pool, Health Club, Changing Rooms including the Saunas, Sports Activities, Games Room and Treatment Rooms. Gets involved in the teaching aspects of some of the basic sports.

 

Key responsibilities

  • Assess individual's current exercise program and level of fitness to develop personalized exercise programs and provide fitness counseling.
  • Provide advice to individuals on the correct method of exercising with fitness equipment.
  • Provide information, register, and schedule guests for recreation activities.

  • Promote the rules and regulations of the recreation facility intended for the safety and welfare of guests and members.
  • Clean and maintain equipment and supplies.
  • Wipe down fitness center machines and remove towels, trash, and debris from fitness center area.
  • Maintain an adequate supply of cups and water in recreation area.
  • Distribute lockers and towels to guests.
  • Provide information to guests about available recreation facilities and activities.
  • Promote a fun and relaxing atmosphere for guests.
  • Oversee activities in the recreational facility and provide assistance to guests until the arrival of emergency medical services.
  • Explain and promote the rules and regulations of the recreation facility intended for the safety and welfare of guests and members.
  • Ensure that hourly employees are trained on company core values, job roles, responsibilities, and technical and service aspects of the job.
  • Report accidents, injuries, and unsafe work conditions to manager; complete safety training and certifications.
  • Follow all company and safety and security policies and procedures; report any maintenance problems, safety hazards, accidents, or injuries; complete safety training and certifications.

 

  • Ensure uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
  • Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information; protect company assets.

  • Move, lift, carry, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 25 kg without assistance and in excess of 25 kg with assistance.
  • Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift.
  • Read and visually verify information in a variety of formats (e. g., small print).
  • Visually inspect tools, equipment, or machines (e. g., to identify defects).
  • Enter and locate work-related information using computers and/or point of sale systems.
  • Grasp, turn, and manipulate objects of varying size and weight, requiring fine motor skills and hand-eye coordination.
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
  • Move over sloping, uneven, or slippery surfaces and steps.
  • Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards.
  • Speak with others using clear and professional language, and answer telephones using appropriate etiquette.
  • Listen and respond appropriately to the concerns of other employees.

Job requirements

·         Qualified Gym Instructor Diploma 

·         2 years’ Experience in physical training

·         Excellent Knowledge of English Language

·         Excellent communication Skills

·         Pleasant Personality

·         Qualified with first aid certificate (Lifeguard certificate is a plus)

·         Customer-centric
