Are you ready to step into a key position in Grundfos to work closely with our Group Facility organization to drive optimization of cost and quality by high level purchasing activities, right-sourcing (make/buy decisions) and working closely with external partners to leverage the best the market can offer us?



We are right now looking for a Senior Category Manager to set the strategic direction for category Facility Management for all our plants and sales locations in EMEA. We want to take our category management for Facility Management to the next level and professionalize the function even further. Therefore, we need you on our team!

We work under the headlines ‘Value Based Sourcing, strengthening Operational Excellence and driving Innovation and Sustainability with our external indirect suppliers’. The Senior Category Manager Facility will be the driving force for this development and enable us to materialize this ambition in collaboration with internal stakeholders,” explains Senior Purchasing Manager, Nicolai Vinge.

 

What is the job about?

As Senior Category Manager, your responsibility is to develop, implement an execute the purchasing strategy for Facility Management category in close cooperation with stakeholders across EMEA.  

Your main scope of responsibilities will be setting direction for where and how to develop the category in close collaboration with business responsible, being accountable for value & savings delivery across the category spend, ensuring global standards and guidelines, sharing sourcing best practices, facilitating cross regional benchmarking and knowledge exchanges.



As Senior Category Manager for the Facility Management category, you will become part of both Group Purchasing and Group Facility. Your will be responsible for target achievement in the category including:

  • Be the focus point of all Facility Management topics in EMEA: Define Regional and Local purchasing strategies, and advise the team of local purchasers in the EMEA region on Facility Management Purchasing topics. 
  • Leading negotiations/tenders with EMEA scope
  • Looking after Danish Facility Management topics (Besides EMEA there will also be some topics in Denmark)
  • Manage supplier and stakeholder relations
  • Drive standardization and transparency across the category
  • Managing the development, implementation, and alignment between Global and Regional sourcing strategies and supplier network 

Also, you will ensure foundation for supplier relationship management, data transparency and reporting abilities for indirect suppliers.



Continuously monitoring the trends and market development within your area of responsibility is key to let us leverage the best the market has to offer and to allow you to challenge both internal stakeholders and suppliers and be ambitious when you negotiate,” explains Nicolai.



What do you need to apply?

Most probably, you hold a relevant commercial Master’s or Bachelor’s degree combined with minimum 7 years’ experience form a similar position. Moreover, you have:

  • Extensive knowledge of Facility Management topics; cost drivers, market trends, services, purchasing processes
  • Experience within managing an international vendor portfolio
  • Minimum 5 years of contract negotiation and procurement experience
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience from managing cross-border activities in procurement/facility management
  • Strong stakeholder management skills with experience in managing stakeholders across cultures and countries
  • Excellent communication skills in English – verbally and in writing. Danish is an advantage.



In this role, you can expect to have approx. 20-30 days of travelling internationally – under normal conditions, and probably not in the first 9 months.



After initial onboarding period we expect you to work from the Group Facility Management offices in our HQ in Bjerringbro approx. 2 days per week. But as your stakeholders are situated across EMEA, we are flexible with where you want to work from rest of the week - inside DK,” explains Nicolai Vinge.
