Would you like to use your technical skills in a research environment and help us to even more success? Can you execute on multiple tasks keeping a solid quality focus? Then you might be the Laboratory Technician, we are looking for. 



In this role, you will join the Materials Laboratory in Grundfos and be part of a team of 12 Laboratory Technicians/Engineers, who test and analyse materials and pumps for our R&D departments and production sites. You get a unique opportunity to work with a wide variety of tasks in a R&D organisation and use your technical skills, both on a theoretical and a practical level. You will report to Manager at the Materials and Analytical Laboratory, Paul Lyck Hansen. 



Use your technical skills to deliver world class test documentation

Your primary responsibility will be to conduct test of various materials (metals, polymers and ceramics) in order to document the quality of our base materials or to identify root causes in relation to failure and troubleshooting investigations. This is typically based on the following techniques:

 

  • Sample preparation by cutting, grinding, embedding and etching for microscopy (LOM)
  • Microscopy and evaluation of micro/macro-structures (grain size, inclusions, coating thickness and phase analysis)
  • Hardness testing of various materials
  • Identification of the metal composition of alloys by XRF
  • Investigation of the quality of welding’s
  • SEM/EDX investigations of surfaces and deposits
  • Roughness measurement of surfaces (profilometry)



You will be involved in the entire process from the initial client request to the reporting of the test results, and you cooperate closely with your lab colleagues to deliver on our daily tasks. Your tasks will vary in size and complexity from short term urgent assignments to larger development projects. Hence, you will have a unique possibility to bring your theoretical knowledge into play across many different test methods, materials and assignments.



A learning mindset and determined to deliver high quality test data

 

  • You are educated as a Laboratory Technician
  • Preferable, you have experience working with analysis of materials
  • MS Office skills is a prerequisite and you are fluent in English, both in writing and speech
  • It is an advantage if you have experience with accredited analytical test methods

We often handle a lot of simultaneous assignment, and therefore you need to be able to prioritize your time spent on each case effectively.
