The Realtime Engineering is looking for a talented UI Engineer to help build applications that aid in realtime understanding of the Uber ecosystem. Think not of dashboards, but of a thoughtfully crafted experience around realtime data that makes Uber's complex ecosystem comprehensible and operationally actionable. Uber thrives with an effective understanding of this data, and applications you build would be a critical piece of our worldwide operations. You should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, growing, and dynamic environment.

HERE ARE THE KINDS OF SKILLS WE'RE LOOKING FOR:

  • Strong web UI programming skills. This job will often require you to make the browser do ‘magic’.
  • Passion for data visualization and endless curiosity with data. You ideally have a portfolio of projects you like to show off.
  • Resilient architecture and coding skills. You won’t be building one-off visualizations, but scalable applications for production use.
  • Experience with Javascript libraries such as Backbone, D3, Leaflet or similar libraries.
  • Ability to self-start. You are comfortable figuring out the requirements rather than being handed a document.
  • A keen eye for design and user experience is a plus.
