As a Front-end Developer, you can translate an interface, designed by visual, interface and interaction designers, to HTML5, CSS3 and JavaScript. You bridge the gap between visual design and development, and you need to be an all-round Front-end Developer with technical knowledge, innovative skills and an eye for visual design.
As a Front-end Developer you are a part of our UNIT4 Design Center, headquartered in Utrecht, the Netherlands. You will cooperate closely with the visual, interface and interaction designers located in Utrecht, but your day-to-day work will be as a part of a software development Product Domain where you and an Interface Designer will be responsible for conducting good design, on-site. You will be a hands-on collaborative team member in the teams, and work closely with all development teams and other domain resources within your product domain.
As a Front-end Developer in UNIT4 R&D a thorough knowledge and experience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript and web standards is essential. In addition you need to have a good sense of design, and have a creative and team-oriented mind-set.
As a Front-end Developer at UNIT4 you are looking for a challenge with great potential of learning and development within your area of expertise, as well as enjoying the experiences of working with different development centers across Europe and be exposed to different cultures.
Key tasks and responsibilities:

Translating graphical end interaction designs to excellent performing interfaces;

Develop fully functional (mobile) web applications, using CSS, HTML and JavaScript;

Pro-active thinking and working closely together with both Designers and Developers about building (mobile) web applications in an agile environment;

Writing programmable code without the use of WYSIWYG editors;

Writing semantic code, in preparation for dynamic content of (mobile) web applications.
Job requirements
Knowledge and skills

Knowledge of Sencha or other JavaScript frameworks (e.g. Angular) preferred;
- Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal;

Good sense of usability, as well as quality driven and pixel-perfect;

Flexible, and with strong problem solving skills;

You are accurate, creative and committed to excellence;

You have good communication skills and you have the ability to team up with both Design and Development;

Education
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Graphic Design, User Experience, Multimedia or related field.
Experience

Minimum of 3 years’ experience with HTML/CSS, JavaScript and Photoshop;

Proven experience in developing websites and / or web applications;

Programming validated, cross-browser and cross-platform code; experienced with Front-end Development for mobile devices;

Experience with Front-end Development for ERP and other Business Software preferred;

Experience with or background in a usability – focused environment;

Experience with Visual Studio .NET is beneficial in this position;

Agile/lean experience preferred.
