Intel has announced a major expansion of its production capacities in Europe and plans to develop two first-of-their-kind semiconductor fabs in Magdeburg, Germany, the capital of Saxony-Anhalt. Planning has started, with construction expected to begin in the first half of 2023 and production planned to come online in 2027, subject to European Commission State aid approval and funding approval by the German authorities.

Our engineers are practitioners in process innovation and advanced problem-solving and develop/sustain processes such as, etching, plating, lithographic printing, in semiconductor fabrication manufacturing operations.

Job requirements

Responsibilities:

  • Developing plans and strategies for green field start up, including (but not limited to) global engineering training and certification plan and Engineering ramp strategies.

  • Developing solutions to problems utilizing statistical knowledge and problem-solving tools as well as developing preventative strategies.

  • Using data extraction, data mining, and analysis skills to identify trends and outliers to reduce process variation and drive corrective action plans.

  • Partnering with the Technician teams to troubleshoot equipment and process issues to facilitate sustaining operations.

  • Driving continuous improvement on process and equipment operational indicators to support our future customer demand.

  • Leading continuous improvement initiatives with your team organization which will improve the operational performance of the technology and network.

  • Identifying innovative solutions to problems and influence required stakeholders to drive/implement change.

  • Transferring, starting-up and ramping equipment and processes to best in the world standards.

This role also entails intensive planning & design efforts in various areas of this function, for this project and other related projects.

Final location is Magdeburg site. Interim location of this role is Home Based Office until office premises will be available, ETA: Q4 2022.

Qualifications
 

Minimum qualifications:

  • National Framework Qualification (NFQ) L8 (Degree)/L9(Masters) or L10 (PhD) qualification in a relevant Science or Engineering discipline (Physics, Chemistry, Applied Chemistry inorganic, Chemical Eng., Electronic Eng., Electrical Eng., Material Science, Mechanical Eng., Mechatronics, Biomedical Eng. Nanotechnology, Math, semiconductor, pharmaceutical, biomedical/medical and device manufacturing). This is a non-exhaustive list and not limited to the above.

  • Minimum of 8 + years of relevant industry experience in engineering/semiconductor/pharmaceutical/biomedical/medical device or manufacturing environment.

  • Candidate must be willing to relocate to Magdeburg.
