EXPERIENCED TECHNICIANS REQUIRED AT FRANK KEANE VOLKSWAGEN

Frank Keane Group are Irelands Largest Volkswagen, BMW and MG retailers. We are a privately owned group with both a distribution (MG Motor, Fuso Trucks and Mitsubishi Parts) and retail business (Volkswagen, Skoda, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles,  BMW, MINI, MG, Hyundai, ISUZU, Maxus,) with a strong focus on quality and high levels of customer satisfaction. We employ over 400 staff and are still seeking to develop our business and staff numbers. Due to strong growth in our business we are currently looking for a number of ambitious and career orientated individuals to work in our state-of-the-art aftersales facilities. We are actively looking to fast track our technicians through training and High Voltage training to provide our customers with a standard of work 2nd to none. 

The Role

Based in either in our West or South Dublin premises, the ideal candidates will be experienced in all aspects of vehicle servicing and diagnostics and be capable of producing high quality work in a busy environment.  Responsibilities include :

• Performing work as outlined on the job card with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and Volkswagen standards.
• Communicating with parts department to obtain needed parts, inform workshop manager if vehicle is awaiting parts and pursue special order of parts if necessary.
• Diagnosing cause of any malfunction and perform repair after confirming authorization by customer.
• Saving and tagging any and all parts if the job is under warranty or if requested by customer.
• Examining the vehicle and performing vehicle health checks to determine if additional safety or service work is required.
• Notifying service advisors immediately if additional work is needed, if work outlined is not needed, or if repairs can not be completed within the time promised.
• Road-testing vehicles to spot check work performed.
• Keeping abreast of Volkswagen technical bulletins and attend factory sponsored training classes.
• Maintaining a clean and neat workspace and adhering to all company policies, procedures and safety standards

Requirements

• Qualified technician, ideally working with a Volkswagen Group brand, however not completely necessary.
• Ability to clearly complete job card write ups with a thorough understanding of the requirements of factory standards for warranty write-ups.
• Good communication skills and the ability to identify and explain additional work required to service advisors or customers as required.
• Previous experience on engine/transmission repairs/rebuild/replacement would be an advantage.
