DevOps Engineer - Career in global application – Willing to learn.

 

Are you a mid-career DevOps Engineer looking for a next step? Become a member of ING’s global application team in Amsterdam. We are looking for passionate IT specialists with bright minds who love to prevent and overcome (technical) challenges regarding stability, capacity, and performance of the system.

 

In this position you will fulfil a crucial role in both delivering a stable service as well as evolving Calypso to the specific needs of our (internal) customers. You will be part of a team that contributes to the core processing of extensive (international) financial transactions between the bank and third parties. In addition, you will work on strategic projects that broaden the user base, product scope, and functionality of this application.

Your role is very varied and no two days are the same, but your main tasks / deliverables are to:

  • Develop (complex) new functionality and coordinate its implementation on the Calypso Production environment.
  • Functionally and technically support the Calypso application (24x7) on a rotational basis.
  • Furiously automate everything: deployment, functional/technical/performance testing, system health checks, regression testing and anything else that is still done manually.
  • Improve and learn every day

 

Calypso

Calypso provides functions for multiple asset classes such as Foreign Exchange, Fixed Income, Interest Rate Derivatives, Credit Derivatives and other derivatives instruments. Calypso is now becoming a standard in banking, including for Clearing, Collateral, Liquidity and Cash Management functionality. The platform is written entirely in Java running on Linux and Oracle.

 

Profile:

  • University Level education (MsC); preferably with an IT link
  • 7+ years of relevant IT work experience
  • Willing to become a Calypso expert
  • Working experience with object oriented programming (Java)
  • Hands-on knowledge of SQL, Linux & scripting
  • Hands-on knowledge of Continuous Delivery tools such as: Nolio, Concordion, Git, Jenkins, Maven, ANT, Logstash-Kibana-Elastic Search, Graphite etc.
  • An excellent spoken and written command of English
  • A pro-active and open attitude

Experience in Banking and/or DevOps, as well as Calypso knowledge are definite pluses.
