Job offer description

The candidate will be called to provide his activity in the Telespazio Fucino Space Center, with the possibility to be involved for short/medium timeframes in other’s Company or Customers operational/engineering centers, with the main goal to grant the proper technical and operational exploitation of systems composing the Space Mission Ground Segment (in the telecommunication, remote sensing and/or navigation technological context).

Responsibilities/ Duties /Tasks

  • System and Operational Requirements analysis;
  • Software development;
  • SW configuration control;
  • Unitary and System Integration testing;
  • E2E System and Operational testing and validation;
  • First and Second level SW preventive and corrective maintenance;
  • First and Second level HW preventive and corrective maintenance;
  • drafting documentation or contributing to project documentation (manuals, architectural drawing, user stories and test documents);
  • participation in technical and progress meetings.
  • Critical analysis of the project documentation in input and eventually RIDs production
  • Deep study and critical analysis of system administrations user manuals to achieve a high level of knowledge of one or more ground subsystems and eventually RIDs production
  • Extensive usage of ground component in order to achieve the necessary knowledge for operational and  maintenance procedure
  • Development, validation and maintenance of specific operational script eventually identified from operational and maintenance needs
  • Monitoring of the functional status of the subsystems of the "Ground" component of the Mission Control Segment;
  • Operational, maintenance and engineering management of the application environments related to Space Missions Ground Segments & Systems;
  • Generation of operational reports, as applicable for the various Missions
  • Support for trouble-shooting of detected anomalies and management of contingency scenarios
  • Attendance to meeting, reviews, teleconference, etc
Job requirements

Qualification:

  • University degree in computer science or other relevant discipline

Mandatory Skills & Experience:

  • Knowledge of the Angular programming language
  • Professional experience of at least 2 years in structured contexts, on back-end WEB projects where the following technologies have been used: Java 7 and 8, Spring, Spring boot.
  • Experience in building back-end architectures;
  • Front-end graphical interface design;
  • Experience in designing RestFul services;
  • Knowledge of version control tools such as SVN and GIT;
  • Knowledge of tools such as Maven, Jenkins, Kafka;
  • Knowledge of relational and non-relational databases;
  • Use of debug browser console;
  • Knowledge of microservice architectures;
  • Knowledge of Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Knowledge of HTML5, CSS3, Bootstrap, Javascript, JSON and Python;
  • Knowledge of UX/UI fundamentals;
  • Working place: Fucino Space Centre, occasionally remotely.
  • Strengths in analysis, synthesis and presentation, coupled with very good interpersonal skills and a proven ability to apply these to the interactions within a team and between teams.
  • Availability to work abroad for limited periods of time.

 

Additional Skills & Experience:

  • Knowledge of:
    • system engineering standards applicable for Space Missions Ground Segments development, operations engineering and operations execution phases;
    • Cyber-security technical and operational concepts;
    • System Administration and Networking concepts;
    • Unix, Linux and Windows operating Systems;
    • Shell scripting (bash, tcsh);
    • English language [B1].
  • Familiarity with:
    • HW and SW System Maintenance tasks;
    • Postgres SQL and/or Oracle DB;
    • Cloud Computing Architectures
    • ILS concepts.
