Data Engineer (W/M)

You will be part of a central data enterprise team within the data technology pillar that aims at building the best data technology solutions for the client. You will work with other engineers and product teams to create the best-in-class data platform with leading capabilities to support the business solve the most critical challenges through data solutions.

Your Role:

• Responsible for google storage cleanup through two alternatives:

1. Delete history on Google Cloud Storage.
2. Change the storage tier from standard (hot) to cold or archive. The storage is cheap after all, and the data in question has value, and anyway, it's already in the cloud.

• Google Dataproc activities:

1. Governance of the clusters created.
2. The clusters created in Dataproc to run the project on a monthly basis have their own template, with policies in place and you will be responsible of review and/or improve these policies.
3. As this is a business managed application, the client can create clusters a la carte. Clusters created for ad-hoc data explorations may be oversized for the processing they will perform (e.g., if they copy the cluster creation command from the balance sheet, which is obviously a cluster of exception and not of rule).

• Google BigQuery activities:

1. Delete BigQuery's ad-hoc exploit tables. There are numerous internal ad-hoc exploit tables stored. Obsolete ones should be deleted, and depending on business volume/need, move to cloud storage.

• Course in Engineering or related courses;
• At least 2-3 years of experience in the area;
• Proven knowledge and experience with GCP on the tools Google Cloud Storage, Google Dataproc and Google BigQuery;
• Deep knowledge with SQL;
• Good comunication;
• Leadership Spirit and teamwork;
• You have proficiency in English and be fluent/native in Portuguese;
• You have to live or open to work in Lisbon, Portugal.
