Our Data team in Hearing Care IT is growing!

We offer a unique career opportunity to become our new Data Engineer, within our Data Intelligence department in Demant’s Hearing Care (Retail) organization. You will work directly with our Solutions Architects, platform engineers and business leaders across our 20+ global markets.

Job requirements

What tasks are waiting for you?

 

You will be important on our journey to excel in data delivery to our users across all the Retail companies in the Demant group. Working with the latest technology, using Google Cloud tools (primarily DataFusion, DataForm, BigQuery and Looker), we aim to make Demant more data driven.

 

You will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining and optimizing existing data ingestion pipelines & developing new replication and batch jobs
  • Ensuring focus on FinOps, maintaining partitioning & clustering, and working with BI engine
  • Assembling large, complex sets of data that meet non-functional and functional business requirements
  • Identifying, designing, and implementing internal process improvements including a focus on:
    • Infrastructure for greater scalability
    • Optimizing data delivery
    • Automating manual processes
  • Building applications for optimal extraction and ingestion of data from various data sources including Azure, AWS, on-premises SQL environments and third-party data providers; using a variety of methodologies and tools 
  • Building analytical tools to utilize data pipelines, providing actionable insight into key business performance metrics, including operational efficiency and customer acquisition.
  • Being part of ML/AI projects or data migration projects

About you

 

To succeed in this role, you come with a master’s degree in IT, computer science, business or similar. You either just graduated or have 1-2 years’ work experience as a data analyst or data engineer, in similar role. 

 

Ideally you:

  • Have experience working with data platforms and cloud solutions (especially Google Cloud, but not necessarily)
  • Are skilled with SQL, and one of the following: Python, Java , C#, C++, or similar language
  • Are fluent in English
  • Can travel between 5-10 days annually
  • Are familiar with building data pipelines or workflows using either of these: CDAP/DataFusion, Apache Beam/Dataflow, Kafka/Pub Sub, Apache Airflow/Cloud Composer, or other tools 
  • Have experience working in an agile framework.
